Easily Create Twinkling Stars animation in Adobe After Effects

In this tutorial, you will learn to create Twinkling stars animation in Adobe After effects. After watching this tutorial you will be able to create your own twinkling stars within 5 minutes. You can use it in your projects.

Step 1: First of all open Adobe After Effects. Go to Composition and create a new composition. Set rename it to twinkling stars. Set the resolutions to 1920×1080 Pixels. 30 frames per second, and set the duration to 10 sections.

Step 2: Go to the file menu > Import > Select the background of the stars. The drag and drop the image to the composition. Reduce the image size to fit the screen.

Step 3: Select the Stars Background layer then Press the Control D key on the keyboard to make it

Step 4: Go to the Effects and Presets, and search the effect curves.

Step 5: Drag and drop the Effect to the screen. We want to reduce the image brightness to see the bright stars.

Step 6: Go to the Layers Menu > New > and create a solid layer and rename it to Twinkle Map.

Step 7: Go to Effects and presets, and search for the effect called Turbulence Noise. Drag and drop to the black solid.

Change these settings: Change Fractal type to Dynamic to 650, Brightness -3, go under the sub settings change Sub influence to 75%, Sub-Scaling to 50%.

Step 8: Hold the ALT Key on the keyboard and click on the Evolution stopwatch icon to add an expression Then add +time*800.

Step 9: Change the Twinkle stars layer mode from normal to screen.

Step 10: Go to the track matte settings and set it to Luma Matte (Twinkle Map).

Step 11: Finally go to the effects and select glow effect. Drag and drop to the twinkle star layer. Set glow threshold to 80%, Glow radius to 35%, and intensity to 4%.

You can change the time up to 1000 to 2000.

We are done! Our Twinkling Stars animation is completed.
