Create a Glossy Shiny Logo Animation in After effects

If you want to create a simple yet professional shiny logo animation in After effects then this is the best tutorial for you. In this tutorial, you will learn to create a professional shiny logo animation in Adobe After Effects. If you want to get the same results as mine, then I recommend you to watch my video till the end. Each video of my Channel is made with hard work. Yes, this tutorial is quite long but the results are awesome. This is the best tutorial logo animation tutorial I have created so far.

Anyway, Here’s the effect we’re going to create.

Let’s get started!

Step 1: First of all open Adobe After effects. Then Create a new composition. Rename it to “LOGO HERE”.
Set the resolution of 1920×1080 Pixels. The frame rate is 30 frames per second and set the duration to 10 seconds.

Step 2: Go to the File Menu > Import > Select your logo. Drag and drop the logo to the composition. Press S to open scale properties. Decrease the logo scale if required.

Step 3: Create a new composition. (Go to Composition Menu > Create a New Composition). Rename it to “Logo Edges”. Drag and drop the LOGO HERE Composition to a newly created composition which is Logo Edges.

Step 4: Go to Effects and presets. Search the effect Tint, drag, and drop to the screen. Again Search the Effect Find Edges. This effect is important for the glossy effect. It will highlight the logo parts and add some strokes. Now, search for the effect called curves. Drag and drop to the screen. Adjust the curves if you want.

Step 5: Create a New composition. Rename it to Logo Blur. Drag and drop the logo edges composition into it.

Step 6: Create an adjustment layer. (Go to Layer > New > Adjustment Layer). Rename it to Logo Blur. then apply the Effect Fast Blur on an adjustment layer. Set the blurriness to 1. Then apply the unsharp mask effect on an Adjustment layer. Set the amount to 100.

Step 7: Create a new composition. Rename it to the Reflection logo. Drag and drop the logo blur composition to it. Hide the layer by clicking the eyeball icon. Drag the Logo composition just above the Logo blur composition.

Let’s create the reflection composition.

Step 8: Import the reflection image. (Download link is available at the end of this article). Increase the scale. Right-click the image then go to transform and select Flip Horizontal.

Step 9: create a new composition and rename it to Reflection Map 1. Drag and drop the reflection composition to it. Increase the scale and position. Select the Reflection composition layer and make it duplicate. Let’s visible to the parent column Drag the pick whip to another layer. So the top layer will be the child layer and follow the parent layer.

Step 10: Select the bottom layer and Press P to open position. Add a keyframe, then change its position.

Step 11: Drag the reflection map 1 composition just below the logo here composition. Go to track matte, and choose alpha matte. Select the Reflection Map composition 1.

Step 12: Search the effect of CC glass. Drag and drop to the screen. Go to Surface, Set bump map to Logo blur. Softness to 80. Height to 100 and displacement to -500. Go to lights. Light type to point light.
Light height to 100. Leave the shading as it is. Search the effect cc blobbylize. Drag and drop to the screen. Go to blobbylize. Set blob layer to logo blur. Softness to 4. Cut away to 0. leave the lightness and shading settings.

Step 13: Change the reflection map 1 layer from normal to screen. Now, create a new composition and rename it to Reflection Map 2. again apply the cc glass effect to the reflection map 2 composition. Go to Surface, Set bump map to Logo blurr, Softness to 25. Height to 80 and displacement to -300. Apply the effect cc blobbylize to reflection map 2 composition. Leave the shading. Apply the cc blobbylize on reflection map 2 composition.

Step 14: Create a new composition. Rename it to logo build. Select the reflection logo composition. Drag and drop to the layers section. Change the blending mode to screen. Again Drag and drop the reflection logo composition. Change the blending mode to hard light. Select both layers and press T to open opacity. Change the opacity to 40%. Select the logo here composition. Drag and drop below the reflection logo compositions.

Step 15: Create a new composition. Rename it to the Main. Select the logo build composition. Just drag and drop to the layers section. Create a new composition. Rename it to logo matte. Right-click and create a new solid layer of black color. Search the effect roughen edges. Set the border to 150. Edge sharpness from 5 to 7.

We are done! Our Professional Shiny logo animation in After effects are completed.
