If you are looking to create amazing & professional light leaks, then this tutorial is best for you. In this tutorial, you will learn to create amazing professional light leaks in Adobe After Effects without using any third-party plugins. After watching this tutorial, you will make your own light leaks animation in Adobe After Effects. For better results, I recommend you to watch this video till the end.
Anyway, let’s get started!
Step 1: Open Adobe After Effects then create a new composition. Rename it to light leaks or whatever name you like. Set the resolution to 1920×1080 Pixels, 30 frames per second, and set the duration to 10 seconds.
Step 2: Go to the Layer Menu > New > Select the Solid. Rename it to the lights. Go to effect and presets, and search for the effect of Fractal Noise. Drag and drop to the screen.
Fractal Noise settings: Change the Fractal Type from Basic to Dynamic. Noise Type to spline: Contrast to 175. Bright to -65. Change the complexity to 1.
If you click on RAM Preview, our animation will not work. So Go to the settings, Hold the Alt key on the keyboard, and click the Evolution stopwatch icon to add an expression, then type Time Multiply 300.
Step 3: Go to settings, then under the transform > Change the scale to 1500. These are my settings. But you can change the settings if you want.
Step 4: Go to Effects & Presets, and search the effect Hue and saturation. Drag and drop to the screen, and check the colorize option. Then change the color hue. Change the colorize saturation to 60.
Step 5: Now, go to the file menu then import any Video you want. Drag and drop, just below the light layer. Then change the Lights layer Mode from normal to Add. Click the lights layer, and press Control D to make it duplicate. Then drag the layer to 1 second.
Let’s change the Evolution settings: Change the time value from 300 to 150, Go to transform > Then change the scale value to 1000. Also, change the color hue value to 320.
We are done! Our Professional Light Leaks Animation is ready!
