Decompose Text Script for After Effects.
Do you want to separate the text letters easily and automatically? Then you are definitely at the right place. Here you can find the free script for Adobe After Effects which can easily break up text into separate layers. It’s free After Effects script. It is compatible with the After Effects versions 2022, 2021, 2020, CC 2019, CC 2018, CC 2017, CC 2015.3, CC 2015, CC 2014, CC, CS6
Based on user feedback v3 now has 2 modes:
Keep the original position using expressions (new layers have the same text as the original layer with some elements hidden)
Approximated position without expressions (new layers are 1 char/word/line long)
Each mode has 3 choices:
Split into characters
Split into words
Split into lines
After completion, you will have a layer for each character/word/l
You only need to Download and Paste the script. First of all download the script then extracts it. Then copy the script and follow this path.

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects (version)\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels
Open the Path and then paste the Decompose Text Script.
Here’s a method of using a script.
Step 1: Open Adobe After Effects then create a New Composition. Rename it and change the resolutions to 1920×1080 Pixels. Frame rate to 30 frames per second and set the duration to 5 seconds.
Step 2: Select the Type Tool from the Toolbar and type your text. Then Align your text to the center.
Step 3: Select the Text Layer you want to separate each letter into its own layer.
Step 4: Go to the Window menu, scroll down, and click on Decompose Text.
Step 5: Select the Decompose into Characters then click the Decompose Button. It will automatically separate the text letters into separate layers.
