How to make a simple 3D Text Effect in Photoshop
Are you looking to create a 3d Text Effect in Photoshop? Then you are definitely at the right place. It’s complicated to create a 3D Text Effect. But in this tutorial, I will show you how I created a simple but amazing 3D Text Effect in Photoshop. You don’t need to install any effects. It’s a very easy process.
- Open Adobe Photoshop and Create a new document.
- Rename it to 3D Text of whatever name you like. Set the with to 6.4 inches, Height 3.6 inches, and 300 dpi.
- Select the Horizontal Type Tool Panel then Add your text.
- Then align your text to the center.
- Go to the Layers panel, select the text layer then Press Control J to make it duplicate.
- Now, we have two text layers. Rename the bottom text layer to 3D Text Shadow.
- Hide the bottom text layer.
- Double-click on the top text layer to open the blending options.
- Check the Bevel and Emboss.
Bevel and Emboss Settings:
Set the Style to Inner Bevel. Set the depth to 100%. Set the Size to 12px. And Softness to 5px. Set the angle to 90 degrees. Altitude to 30 degrees.
Highlight mode to overlay. Opacity to 15%. Shadow mode to linear Burn. Opacity to 4%.
Inner Shadow Settings:
Blend mode to overlay. Blend mode color to white. Opacity to 70%. Angle to 88 degrees. Change the Size to 0px.
Inner Glow Settings:
Blend mode to Overlay. Opacity to 25%. Technique to Precise. Select the Edge. Choke to 50%. Select the Anti Aliased. Range to 100%.
Color overlay:
Change the color to #ebebeb
Gradient Overlay:
Blend mode to soft light. Select the gradient which is Black and transparent. Select the black color and change the opacity to 50%. Change the Scale to 90%.
Outer Glow:
Blend Mode to overlay. Opacity to 30%. Change the size to 10px. Change the range to 50%.
Drop Shadow:
Blend Mode to Linear Burn. Opacity to 30%. Distance to 75. Spread to 0%. Size to 50px.
Then Click Ok.
Now, our 3D Text effect settings are done. It’s time to create the shadow settings. Hide the top layer which is the 3D Text Effect.
Then Unhide the 3D Text Shadow layer. Then double click on the layer to go to blending options.
Inner Shadow:
Blend mode to color burn. Color to black. Opacity to 30%. Change the angle to -90 degrees. Uncheck the Use global light. Distance to 3px. Size to 30px.
Inner Glow:
Blend Mode to Linear Burn. Opacity to 10%. Color to black. Set the technique to soften. Set the choke to 0%. Size to 20px. Range to 50%.
Color Overlay:
Change the color value to #cfd2d3.
Outer Glow:
Blend mode to normal. Opacity to 10%. Change the color to Black. Change the size to 7px.
Drop Shadow:
Blend Mode to Linear Burn. Color to black. Change the opacity to 30%. Angle to 85 degrees. Distance to 2 px. Size to 10.
Now, change the character tracking of the shadow text layer to -15.
Then unhide the top text layer.
And we are done. Our 3D Text Effect is completed.
