If you want to create a colorful fire then you are at the right place. Here is the fast and easy tutorial. In this tutorial, you will learn to change the fire color easily in Adobe After Effects without using any plugins or expressions. Here is the step-by-step guide.
Let’s get started.
Step 1: Open Adobe after effects then create a new composition. Rename it to colorful fire. Set the resolutions to 1920×1080 pixels, 30 frames per second, and set the duration to 10 seconds.
Step 2: Go to the File menu, then import the fire footage. It’s free footage and you can download it from videezy.com.
Step 3: Drag and drop the footage into the composition. It’s a 4K footage. So right-click on it then Go to transform and then choose Fit to comp.
Step 4: Go to the Layer menu > New > and select the solid. Rename it to the gradient. Right-click on the solid layer. Go to the layer style and choose gradient overlay. Go under the gradient overlay properties then click on Edit Gradient. Select the first color box and choose a red color. Then create another color box and change the color you like. You can add many colors as you like.
Step 5: Change the angle to 180 degrees. Right-click on the gradient layer and choose pre-compose. Rename it if you want. Click on Move all attributes into the new composition. Finally, change the layer mode from normal to Overlay.
You can also use soft light, Hue, and Color Overlay.
We are done. Our fire color will be changed.
