Let’s get started!
Step 1: Open Adobe After Effects and create a New Composition. Rename it to 3D Earth Animation. Set the resolution to 1920×1080 Pixels. Frame rate to 30 Frames per second and set the duration to 10 seconds.
Step 2: Go to the File Menu > Import > Import the Earth Texture and Stars Background. Drag the Star’s background to the 3d earth composition. Now, drag the earth texture just above the background layer. Go to Effects & presets and search the effect CC Sphere. Drag the effect to the earth’s texture. Change the radius value to 400, Under light: Change the light height value to 30. Then under the shading: Change the ambient value to 75, Diffuse value to 75, Specular value to 50, and Roughness to 0.200.
Step 3: Make sure you are at the first frame. Go to the CC Sphere Rotation and add the keyframe on Rotation Y. Go to the last frame on a timeline and change the rotation value to 1 round.
Step 4: Select the star’s background layer. Go to the effects & Presets and search the Effect Motion Tile. Drag and drop to the stars layer and add a keyframe on the tile center. Go to the last frame and change the tile center value to negative numbers.
Step 5: Select the earth texture layer, right-click on it and go to the layer styles and Select Outer Glow. Under the outer Glow Settings.
Change the opacity to 50%, and Change the glow color to light blue. The color code is #00B4FF. Change the size to 100.
Step 6: Right-click on the earth layer, and go to the layer styles, select the Inner Glow. Under the Inner Glow. Change the glow color to light blue. Change the size to 80.
Let’s make it more professional and realistic.
Step 7: Go to the File Menu > Import > Import the Earth Clouds Image. Drag and drop it just above the earth layer.
Step 8: Select the earth texture layer. Go to Effect controls, select the CC Sphere Effect and Copy the Effect by pressing control+C on the keyboard.
