Step-by-Step Guide to Creating a Wiggly Text Animation:

Step 1: Create a Composition

  1. Open Adobe After Effects.
  2. Create a new composition and name it “Wiggly Text Animation.”
  3. Set the resolution to 1920×1080 pixels, frame rate to 30 frames per second, and duration to 10 seconds.

Step 2: Add and Format Text

  1. Select the Type Tool from the Toolbar.
  2. Add your desired text to the composition.
  3. Increase the text size and align it to the center.

Step 3: Create Fractal Noise Background

  1. Go to the Layer Menu > New > Solid Layer.
  2. Rename the solid layer.
  3. Go to the Effects & Presets panel and search for “Fractal Noise.”
  4. Drag and drop the Fractal Noise effect onto the solid layer.
  5. Change the Contrast value to 110.
  6. Under the Evolution options, hold the ALT key and click the stopwatch icon next to Evolution to add an expression. Replace the existing expression with “time*10.”

Step 4: Pre-compose the Background

  1. Right-click on the solid layer.
  2. Select “Pre-compose.”
  3. Rename the pre-composition and choose the option to “Move all attributes into the new composition.”

Step 5: Apply Displacement Map to Text

  1. Hide the composition layer with the fractal noise background.
  2. Select the text layer.
  3. Go to the Effects & Presets panel and search for “Displacement Map.”
  4. Drag and drop the Displacement Map effect onto the text layer.
  5. In the Displacement Map effect settings, change the displacement map layer to the pre-composition we created earlier.

Step 6: Adjust Displacement Settings

  1. Set the Max Horizontal Displacement and Max Vertical Displacement values to 8.

Step 7: Optional Animation Speed Adjustment

If you want to change the animation speed, you can adjust the Max Horizontal and Vertical Displacement values. Higher values will result in a more intense wiggling effect, while lower values will create a subtle animation.

Your Wiggly Text Animation in Adobe After Effects is now complete! This tutorial guides you through creating a dynamic text animation using Fractal Noise and Displacement Map effects. Feel free to customize the settings further to achieve different wiggling effects or experiment with various text and background options.
