Step-by-Step Guide to Creating a Carousel Image Slideshow:
Step 1: Create a Composition
- Open Adobe After Effects.
- Create a new composition named “Image 1.”
- Set the resolution to 1920×1080 Pixels, frame rate to 30 frames per second, and duration to 20 seconds.
Step 2: Duplicate Image Composition
- Duplicate the Image 1 composition 10 times (adjust the number according to your images).
Step 3: Import Images
- Import your images.
- Drag the images to the Image Compositions.
Step 4: Create the Main Composition
- Create a new composition named “Main composition.”
- Drag the Image 1 composition to the Main composition.
- Enable the 3D option for the Image 1 layer.
- Select the Image 1 layer and press “S” to open scale properties. Change the scale to 20%.
Step 5: Adjust the Camera and Position
- Select the Image layer and press “P” to open position properties.
- Change the Z position value to -1000.
- Go to Layer > New > Camera. Adjust the camera settings as needed.
Step 6: Set Up Rotation Control
- Go to Layer > New > Null Object. Rename it to “Rotate Control” and enable the 3D option.
- Parent the Image layer to the Rotate Control layer.
- Adjust the Y rotation value for the Rotate Control layer.
Step 7: Create Rotation for Images
- Change the parent of the Image layer to None.
- Duplicate the Image 1 layer by pressing “D,” then hold Alt and drag the Image 2 composition above the Image 1 layer.
- Calculate the rotation angle based on the number of images. For example, if you have 10 images, and you want to rotate 360 degrees, each image should rotate by 36 degrees.
- Change the Y rotation value for the Image 1 layer to 36 degrees.
Step 8: Set Rotation Keyframes
- Add a keyframe for Y rotation on the Image 1 layer.
- Go to about 2 seconds on the timeline and change the Y rotation value to 36 degrees.
- Go to about 15 frames forward and add a keyframe with the same value.
Step 9: Apply Easy Ease
- Select all keyframes, right-click, go to Keyframe Assistant, and choose Easy Ease.
Step 10: Add Reflection Effect
- Select the Image 1 layer, go to Effects & Presets, and search for the “VC Reflect” effect.
- Drag and drop the effect to the Image 1 layer. Download the free VC Reflect plugin if needed.
- Adjust the reflection distance to 50%, opacity to 50%, and blur amount to 5-10.
- Copy the effect and paste it on the remaining image layers.
