Let’s get started.
Step 1: First of all, open Adobe After Effects. Then create a new composition. I am calling it Image 1. Set the resolution to 1920×1080 Pixels. Frame rate to 30 frames per second. Set the duration to 20 Seconds.
Step 2: Select the Image Composition. And press Control+D to make it duplicate 10 times. Because I am going to add 10 Images. But you are free to use 3 to 5 images if you want.
Step 3: Let’s import the images. Drag the images to the composition.
Step 4: Let’s create a new composition. Rename it to the Main composition. Drag the Image 1 composition to the main composition. Enable the 3D option. Select the Image 1 Layer and Press S to open scale properties. Change the scale to 20%.
Step 5: Select the Image Layer then hit P to open position properties. Let’s change the Z position value to -1000. Go to Layer > New and add the camera layer.
Step 6: Go to layer, then new, and Select the Null Object. Rename it to Rotate Control and Enable the 3D Option. Select the Image layer then parent it to the rotate control layer. Let’s change the Y rotation.
Step 7: The image rotates 360 degrees. Let’s change the parent to None. and select the Image layer 1 layer and press D to make it duplicate. Then Hold the Alt key on the keyboard. Drag the Image 2 composition just above the image 1 layer. Now, here we will make a calculation to divide the 360 degrees by the number of images. For example, if We have 10 images and we want to rotate them to 360 degrees then the answer is 36. Let’s change the Image 1 Y rotation to 36 degrees.
Step 8: Add a keyframe on Y rotation. Go to about 2 seconds on a timeline. Change the Y rotation value to 36. Then Go about 15 frames forward and add a keyframe with the same value.
Step 9: Select all keyframes, then Right click. Go to keyframe assistant and choose easy ease. Let’s add the background.
Step 10: Select the image 1 layer and Go to Effects and Presets. Search the Effect VC reflect. Click Here to download the VC Reflect free plugin. Drag and drop to the Image 1 layer. This effect is 100% free. Thanks to Andrew Cramer. This effect would create a nice reflection.
Step 11: Change the reflection distance to 50%. Change the opacity to 50%. And change the blur amount value to 5 to 10. Copy the effect.
And paste it on the remaining image layers.
We are done! Our Image Carousel Effect is ready in Adobe After Effects.
